hello singaporeeee! kay,i'm back, after spending 2weeks at bacolod. i have become so much darker :/ nevertheless,i really enjoyed myself there. the hands-on experience really teaches me to be grateful for what we have here. many a times we take things for granted. the people there, appreciate every little thing given to them. bacolod is a city of smiles. their smiles are genuine.
i love the simple life there. it's not hectic. it's very calm and peaceful unlike here in singapore. the people are friendly and they never fail to smile :)
i was there for YEP (youth expedition programme). we got the opportunity to help the villages build their houses. for once we felt like those bangla workers; working under the hot scorching sun! hahaha! carrying the heavy sacks of sand and mixing the cement really made me get out of my comfort zone. i never knew i was capable of carrying those sacks. hee, great accomplishment!
^^ not only that, we also painted the houses. hahaha,i never paint my house cause it's my dad's job. it's not easy as what it seems like. tedious i would say.
we were also given the chance to impart our first-aid knowledge to the villages. we taught them simple bandaging and cpr. you should have seen how eager they were to learn new skills. i am so proud of them. we also assisted in the circumcision which was done in the village. it was such a gore experience for me. it was very unsightly and painful. eewww!
interaction with the kids over at the school was fun! they are so adorable and lovable. we dance to jaiho as for our cultural performance. we really enjoyed ourselves. besides working together with the community, we also had some time for ourselves. we did shopping, sight-seing and also went to the resort. the dipping pool was naise! ^^ the few dancefloor we had at bacold was the best i ever had! we dance like nobody's business. feels so stress-free. i likeeeeee!
enjoy the pictures :) more on fb.
